I’m the creative director of a well-known brand of
A) shoes B) glasses C) perfumes D) handbags.
Competition with other brands is fierce, and I need an unforgettable campaign to relaunch my brand.
You are a team of creatives (photographer, graphic designer, art director) and you want this job.
Decide whether to work in a group or individually. Decide whether to work on option ABC or D. Choose an existing brand, invent your own, or decide to work without a brand; and think of three key words to describe the campaign you will create. Examples:
Glasses / No brand / alien, dystopic, punk
Perfumes / Invented brand / intimate, poetic, melancholic
Glasses / Ray-Ban / mysterious, classic, black & white
Shoes / Nike / street, funny, colorful
Shoes / No brand / shiny, nocturnal, fantasy
Perfumes / Moschino / elegant, sexy, transgressive
Handbags / The North Face / adventure, nature, travel
You must convince me of your campaign with two images:
_A vertical poster-sized image, for street advertising, with or without the brand logo. The photograph will be taken in the studio, with natural or artificial light (flash or continuous), with or without a model. Color or black and white. You can work with or without Photoshop and add any graphic elements or leave the photograph more clean.
_A diptych of two images for a double-page ad. Both images must feature the product, large or small as you choose. For example, a portrait and a still life, or two still lifes of the product at different distances, two portraits, etc. The photographs will be taken in the studio, with natural or artificial light (flash or continuous), with or without a model. Color or black and white. You can work with or without Photoshop, and you can add any graphic elements or leave the photograph more clean.
You must take photographs and any graphic design within a single lesson and submit the finished project at the end of the lesson. You must consider which product to bring and how to photograph it. Whether to bring props and which ones, and whether to work with or without a model. Bring a reference image of the type of light/atmosphere you would like to recreate in the studio, knowing that we have a limited number of lights.
