A collective and participatory visual survey about job opportunities in the slum of Mathare, Nairobi.

The unemployment rate in the Mathare slum of Nairobi is critically high, estimated between 70% and 80%, with youth and women facing the most severe rates of joblessness. Most residents who do earn an income survive on low-paying casual labor or informal micro-businesses. They are forced to work extra hours to achieve a minimum salary, The average work hours are from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m..
